Planning Fees Increase

Following the laying of an order before Parliament just before the Christmas break, planning application fees in England have risen by 20% from 17 January 2018.
The Government promised the increase to local planning authorities provided that the additional money raised would be re-invested within their planning department. This is the first planning fee increase for 5 years.
The increase means that the standard fee for most minerals and waste applications will rise to £234 per 0.1ha. (or part thereof). The fee for Section 73 applications (to vary conditions on an existing consent) has also risen, from £195 to £234.
