Mineral Safeguarding Gains Importance within Lincolnshire
Following the adoption of the final document within the Minerals and Waste Local Plan, mineral safeguarding has gained importance within Lincolnshire.
Lincolnshire is underlain by extensive mineral deposits, many of which are now safeguarded in order to avoid the unnecessary sterilisation of potentially important resources. As a result of this, where a planning application for non-mineral development falls within a Mineral Safeguarding Area, local planning authorities are increasingly requiring the submission of Mineral Resource Assessments.
In many cases such Assessments can be undertaken as a desk based exercise, without the requirement for site investigations. Whatever the development, Hughes Craven can advise upon the likely scope of the works required and undertake an appropriate Mineral Resource Assessment to ensure that the development complies with Mineral Safeguarding policy.
